Kerry Thomson

Trustee

“I first learnt about Buttony through Jenny, we work together and have become great friends.  Her passion for Buttony and the amazing work the volunteers do inspired me to join the team as a Trustee.  I am constantly amazed at all the brilliant things the charity does – from all the work the volunteers do, the bears that help educate and bring comfort to children affected by stomas to the delightful children’s book and thoughtful young adult’s wash bag.  The team do a fantastic job of raising awareness through various talks and fund raising events and I am delighted to be part of the Buttony community.

I am a mother of two young boys and work in the school office at Aboyne Academy.  I love to see the interest that our pupils have with Buttony and the passion it invokes.  It’s so important that our young folk are educated about stomas and the positive affect it has on young people’s lives.  I have a degree in Business Law and together with my admin background I was delighted to be able to offer my help to such an amazing charity."

A Bear Named Buttony is a Scottish Charity, SC049781, regulated by the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
